Living with Border Security Force | An Untold Story from India's Border | हिन्दी | 4k
"Living with Border Security Force" Produced by: Wildlife Moments India Direction, Script & Narration: Amit Goswamy "Living with Border Security Force" (Living with Nature Series, Episode: 1) While exploring the zones of human-wildlife coexistence in India our journey took us to the unexpected places like the borders of India-Pakistan. Despite the hostile weather of Rajasthan's desert and the history of conflicts between the two countries, there is an incredible diversity of wildlife that was found thriving close to the border fence. We documented the dynamics of wildlife at India's western border and made a detailed documentary on this untouched subject. The film is aptly named "Living with Border Security Force", which is Episode 1 of our series 'Living with Nature'. While working for this story we also did a baseline data collection of species diversity and density, it was incredible to witness a good number of Chinkaras thriving at the border belt along with other species like, Indian desert jird, desert monitor lizard, brilliant agama, saw scaled viper, spiny tailed lizard and others. As we travelled towards the northern areas of Rajasthan border, we recorded the importance of support received from the local communities living close to the border fence, among other communities living close to the border the contribution of the Bishnoi community was notable. In the northern areas of the border belt big herds of Blackbucks were also recorded at multiple places. The big numbers in the Blackbuck herds was signifying the role of the Border Security Force in environment and wildlife conservation. In order to understand this phenomenon with greater depth, we spoke to the Inspector General of BSF (Rajasthan Frontier) Sh. ML Garg. It is one unique story of wildlife conservation where wildlife is thriving outside the Wildlife Protected Area in great numbers. The future of wildlife conservation in India would depend on striking a balance in coexistence with the wild species living outside Protected Areas. The border belt of India is in fact a functional ecosystem, guarded by BSF in every sense. The series exploring the human-wildlife interactions continues to explore other zones of coexistence.
