They achieved worldwide fame with their famous "Lady Barcelona". This fantastic hen won first national Barcelona 1984 and even bettered her performance 2 years later by winning first international Barcelona 1986 against 18,076 competitors from Holland, Belgium, France, Luxembourg and England. Other highlights include winning the German long distance title in 1994, 1st national ace-female pigeon (international flights 1994), 11th European Cup winner 1994, 1st national Bordeaux (868 km) 2001, Olympia participant in the sports category (long distance) in Cape Town/South Africa 2001 and 3rd National Pau (1011 km) in 2002. The blue female has achieved successes which to date are unique in German pigeon sporting history. In 1984 the female "480" won 1st prize national Barcelona (1130km), 2nd international hens and 18th prize international against 13,033 pigeons. Until the Barcelona victory this female had only raced on the traditional south-east route and she had never before seen a French or even a Spanish starting point. The "480" flew a total of 36 prizes on the south-east route and was selected in 1985 for the Olympiad in Portugal (Category: Standard). She achieved the absolute breakthrough two years later by winning the 1st international prize in Barcelona against 18 076 pigeons. Since then, the "480" is just called "Lady Barcelona" - in fact she also won the title of "Golden Barcelona Pigeon". A few years later this wonder-pigeon showed evidence of the highest breeding qualities.
