शक्तीपीठ महामार्ग प्रकल्पात मोठे बदल करण्यात आले असून, या महामार्गाची सुरुवात पूर्वी पवनार येथून होणार होती, ती आता वर्धा जिल्ह्यातील दिग्रज येथून करण्यात आली आहे. या बदलामुळे महामार्गाचा प्रवेशबिंदू म्हणून वर्धा जिल्ह्याचे महत्त्व अधिक वाढले आहे. या प्रकल्पामुळे जिल्ह्यातील सुमारे 20 गावांवर परिणाम होणार असून, मोठ्या प्रमाणावर जमीन संपादन केले जाणार आहे. या महामार्गाचा उद्देश महाराष्ट्रातील विविध भागांमधील कनेक्टिव्हिटी सुधारण्याबरोबरच पर्यटन आणि आर्थिक विकासाला चालना देणे हा आहे. The Shaktipeeth Expressway project has undergone major changes, shifting its starting point from Pawar to Digraj in Wardha district.
