Robbie Shepherd - The Last o' Broon Robbie Shepherd tell the story of Auld Broon's funeral on this track taken from the Ross Records video 'The Auld Meal Mill' was Simon Brown of Aberchirder (Foggieloan ) who composed this poem about his own funeral - The Last o' Broon. Filmed in1997 in Turriff, Aberdeenshire. For many years Robbie was the compere of annual 'Saturday Night at The Auld Meal Mill' concert in Aberdeen and also was the presenter on the series of five Auld Meal videos filmed by Ross Records in various locations in North East Scotland. Sadly Robbie passed away in early August 2023 but his legacy as an entertainer and great supporter of the Doric language will remain for ever through these recordings.
