Angola 2025 Ep 9 4K Wild Camp on Angolas Coast Namibe, Pipas Bay, Turtle Bay & Serra Da Leba Pass
This episode is slow Roads, salt air, soft light and the feeling of having the beach aentirely to ourselves. Hello and welcome back - Flamingo Lodge offered us our first true chance to rest, regroup, and reconnect — in whatever form that took. We spent two balmy nights soaking in every bit of luxury, letting the world slow down around us. The cat became our constant companion, a furry bond linking us to this place. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, its presence made Flamingo Lodge feel like home. Our days were filled with the usual rituals — catching up with the outside world and washing away the layers of dust in a tranquil setting. Angola continues to reveal itself as something truly special — a place where adventure and serenity exist side by side. Our first stop is the town of namibe for a resupply and maybe some more fresh produce exchange some swap some cash for diesel and head north along the coast where we end up in Turtle bay for a wild camp. And so, we arrive in Namibe — a mirage of modern comfort shimmering at the edge of the desert. Here, the promise of cold beer and warm ocean air feels almost surreal. We sit with our feet in the sand, the Atlantic lapping gently at our toes, and let the salt wash over the dust of the journey. It’s strange how quickly the wild becomes home — how silence and solitude can feel more natural than the hum of a beach bar. And now, surrounded by the echoes of civilization, it almost feels like stepping into another world. This is Moçâmedes — the proud heart of Namibe Province. Once a jewel of Portuguese ambition, its colonial facades still whisper stories of another time. a reminder that beauty endures, even as the years drift by like sand on the wind. "After watching the landscape transform... from the arid coast to lush, tropical green... we finally approach the foothills of the escarpment the Serra da Leba Pass. Is a serpentine masterpiece, carved into the mountains in the 70s, and twists its way up the 1,845 meters above sea level...with nearly a dozen hairpin bends. All day long, heavy trucks grind their way up... and down... these razor-sharp curves. Descending drivers honk for right of way. Engines, roar, Brakes hiss and the cliffs drop sharply into the abyss. Here….There’s no room for error. It’s easy to see why this road is hailed as one of the most beautiful and breathtaking—in all of Africa. ✨ Thanks for watching and being part of the journey! ✨ If you’d like to support us and dive deeper into the adventure, here’s where you can find us: 👉 Patreon – Support us & join our tribe: https://www.patreon.com/user?u=270259... 👉 Facebook – Follow along: / soultoniclife 👉 Website – Explore more stories: https://soultoniclife.com/ 👉 The Cookbook – Our food journey in print: https://soultoniclife.com/
