Federal Signal 3T22 Noon Blast - Mapleton, Utah Siren Test

Well, today I heard my first 3T22. Recently I found a bus route that Google Maps has been hiding from me, which just so happens to go past Mapleton. After realizing this, I decided to jump on the opportunity and take the 4 hour trip down there. After seeing it in person, and the rough shape it's in, I wasn't too sure it would go off. But at 12:02, it screamed to life (half-halfheartedly, unfortunately). At first glance, you can tell this siren has been through a lot. and after closer inspection, you can definitely get an idea of the shape it's in. The nearly 12' mounting brackets, the crooked conduit, and a completely absent solenoid mechanism, definitely makes me wonder what this siren's history is. It's definitely ancient, as it runs off an AF timer and a Federal Automatic clock, which can both be seen in this video:    • Federal 3T22A Mapleton, UT  . I would definitely say this was worth the 8 hour round trip, even it it was sounded for just a few seconds. Sirens are in short supply here, which is why I think it's important to document whatever I can while everything is still up.
