Gran incendio consume fábrica en Los Olivos

A fierce fire consumed a cosmetics factory located in the Los Olivos district. The blaze, which broke out around 3:00 a.m., mobilized 20 fire units to control the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby buildings. The factory covers approximately one hectare; however, the affected area corresponds to about 1,200 square meters of the warehouse. Nearly 60 firefighters are still working at the scene to completely extinguish the fire and prevent any possible reignition. Furthermore, the workers inside were able to evacuate safely, as were the residents of the area, who were taken to safety as a precaution against the potential spread of the fire. FIREFIGHTERS ATTEMPT TO CONTROL THE FIRE One of the main factors hindering firefighters' efforts is the large quantity of alcohol stored inside the facility, forcing them to concentrate their efforts on preventing the flames from spreading to other areas of the factory. Authorities also indicated that many of the cosmetic products manufactured there contained chemicals such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, which likely contributed to the rapid spread of the fire and the complexity of the firefighting efforts. EVALUATION SUCCESSFULLY CARRIED OUT Approximately 300 workers were inside the factory at the time, and they were able to evacuate safely without any injuries or fatalities. Similarly, residents of the area were awakened by the intensity of the fire and sought shelter, following the recommendations of the authorities as a preventative measure against the potential spread of the flames.
