After an amazing few days in Santa Barbara, we set sail for California's stunning Channel Islands. Before reaching Santa Cruz Island, we had to learn how to safely plot a course across one of the busiest shipping lanes on the West Coast. With huge commercial vessels sharing the same waters, it was a great lesson in offshore navigation. But nothing could prepare us for what happened next. Out of nowhere, dolphins began appearing around the boat. Then more arrived. And more. Before long we were surrounded by the largest pod of dolphins we've ever witnessed, putting on a display we'll never forget.
