The Smaragd openwork top, made of linen and cotton, is knitted top-down seamlessly. The openwork pattern is perfect for linen yarn. This comfortable, lightweight, and simple top can be knit entirely in openwork or with a different pattern. Product weight: 230 g Flax and cotton bobbin yarn, approximately 400 m / 100 g Needles size 3.5; 2.25 Openwork pattern: 8 stitch repeat, pattern diagram in the video. Knitting gauge: 22 stitches x 30 rows - 10 cm x 10 cm Back Cast on 124 stitches = 55-57 cm on size 3.5 knitting needles. Divide the stitches into three sections with markers: two shoulders (41 stitches each) and a neckline (42 stitches). Knit the neckline and shoulder slopes using short rows (diagram in the video). Distribute the openwork pattern along the edges of the piece on 29 stitches (3 repeats + 5 stitches for symmetry). After knitting the shoulder slopes, knit evenly to the armhole height. Armhole height is 20-22 cm. Front Cast on the first shoulder panel, 42 stitches, and knit the shoulder slope as on the back, distributing the pattern symmetrically. The neckline depth is 7-8 cm, equal to the shoulder slope (1 repeat in height or as desired). Cast on 40 stitches from the neckline to round the neckline. Round the neckline according to the pattern in the video or your own calculations. Next, cast on stitches along the other shoulder, knit similarly to the first, join the two front panels, and round the neckline on the other side. Continue knitting evenly on all stitches to the armhole height. Combine the stitches from the front and back panels. Body - 124 + 124 + 2 + 2 = 252 stitches (add 2 stitches each at the undercuts to join the openwork pattern of the back and front panels). Next, knit the body in the round to the desired length. Along the hem, use 2.25mm knitting needles to knit a 1x1 rib pattern (2-3 cm). Armhole Finishing Cast on stitches around the armhole (2 stitches from each edge stitch) using 2.25mm knitting needles, knitting a 1x1 rib pattern. If necessary, create the sleeve cap using shortened rows. Knit in the round for 3-4 cm. Neckline Finishing Bind the neckline with a 1x1 rib pattern using 2.25mm knitting needles for 2-3 cm.
