Ukrainian drones have reached the Omsk Oil Refinery, Russia's largest, for the first time. Fuel shortages have begun in the city. Satellite imagery confirms at least four hits on process pipelines and the unit itself. Following the attack, a major fire broke out at the facility. The Omsk Oil Refinery is a strategic facility in Russia's fuel industry. Its total capacity exceeds 21 million tons of oil per year. It produces approximately every sixth liter of gasoline and diesel fuel. It is one of the main suppliers of aviation fuel for the Russian Army and civil aviation. And the consequences were immediate. Topline, the largest network of Omsk gas stations, which includes over 50 stations, has stopped selling gasoline to private drivers. Now fuel is sold only to corporate customers using fuel cards. Lines formed at gas stations across the city, and residents began stockpiling gasoline, fearing a shortage. The silence among the most vocal Z-commentators was no less telling. Omsk blogger Golman, who had recently demanded that the region and the oil refinery be surrounded by "four rings of air defense," suddenly disappeared from the airwaves for almost a day after the strike. Apparently, he was waiting for not only the burning refinery to die down, but also his previous confidence in the inviolability of the Russian rear.
