Straightening and Strengthening A Hull With Biaxial Cloth | Healey Boat Restoration Part 2

In this video we are straightening out the hull of the Healey boat to remove the deformation that was done to it whilst in storage. We pull the original fibreglass hull back into shape with a wooden jig system. Then we are applying a biaxial fibreglass cloth to the inside of the hull to reinforce it. This cloth is laid in place with West System Epoxy Resin. We use a total of two layers of 450g stitched biaxial cloth on the hull which, with resin, equates to around an additional 12-15 kgs of total weight in the hull. A small addition considering the rigidity it will add to the boat! In the next video we will be re-installing the boats framework and internal structure. Stay tuned and please remember to subscribe as we will continue to post videos on this project as we do the work.
