1st gen KONE MonoSpace (EcoDisc) MRL Lift near Solothurn, Switzerland

While the actual shopping center is served by a group of three larger MonoSpace lifts, these two lifts serve the parking garage that is open 24 hours. They open in the peripheral area of the center that is always accessible. The right lift of the two only serves the five lower floors from the parking decks to ground. Only the left lift serves all seven floors including the top two which contain some businesses. Since both lifts are technically identical, only the higher one of the two is being presented here. The lower lift has it's logic cabinet located on the ground floor. This lift is a typical example of a first generation MonoSpace. It is one of the oldest MRL designs that went into production. The 1st generation MonoSpace still had all the logic components and the VFD located in a control caabinet on the top floor. Newer versions only have a repeater board in the cabinet as well as a break release leaver for emergency rescue. The construction of the lift car is much more solid and well built than on newer versions of the MonoSpace.
