In each video, I take you with me to join my whole painting process - a portrait painting study, especially how I learn to paint luminous hair —from the very first brushstroke to the final layer—and share everything I discover and learn along the way. Note: This is my personal approach - to make the painting process much simpler (of course it will have the pros and cons, it is more simple and suitable for study, but surely can not get the glowing, realistic effect comparing to traditional approach which requires lots of glazing steps using transparent colors). In my study I only use wet-on-wet (Alla Prima), I also will try glazing some few layers when it fully dry (maybe around several months) to make color more vibrant. This Mastercopy from “Vanity” by Frank Cadogan Cowper. For me, it’s one of the most beautiful and striking examples of the Pre-Raphaelite spirit—romantic, symbolic, and full of emotion.
