Art Journal Ideas You'll Want To Try! Indigenous Australian-inspired, collage, mixed media, acrylics
In this video I'll be showing you the highlights in my second square Clairfontaine art journal; the pages I loved working on and might be ideas for your journal as well. If you like this video, you'll also love this one: • Acrylic Paint Explained: Heavy Body, Fluid... Please let me know which page is your favourite and which thing you'd like to try! Wabi sabi The first few pages I show are inspired by wabi sabi, which is a Japanese way of life in which nature takes a central place. Also it's about imperfection, no symmetry, using 'old and rusty' things, about the beauty of transience. My students loved this assignment so much that they wanted to do it twice. Thumbnail collages 'Thumbnails' are little cards made out of paper with small collages with all kinds of materials. They all have the same size. The great thing is to connect all the pieces, I created this little poem out of snippets of an old note that I've written down last year: I feel love, I feel grief I feel connected I feel everything I feel fragmented And mend all the pieces Even in the midst of chaos I will never leave myself I haven't lost my heart even when I am alone I will go forth Spring page Here, I painted a little Spring scenery with Pearl and blossoms. Dot-art This spread is inspired by the native people of Australia. Also, highly recommended to do yourself! Rubbing technique This great technique with texture and pencils (or charcoal) was so wonderful that I decided to create a couple of pages with it. I created a video about this technique that's shown in the end screen of this video. Mystic vibes in blue A part of this spread is also created for this channel, see the video in the end screen. Flowers & Patterns pages These pages are filled with the project 'Flowers & Patterns'. If you'd like to try this, take a look at my online class Flowers & Patterns: https://braveart.academy/classes/flow... Snail and moth page One of the final pages of this book is filled with garden inspired things, like the moth and a snail, that was sitting right behind me when I worked on the spread. I've forgotten to add the picture of the large canvas of the moth woman, that will follow soon! Please let me know which page is your favourite and which thing you'd like to try! ☕ If you like my videos and find them inspirational and/or helpful, consider buying me a coffee!
