Well, it seems that this game suffers from occasional sound cracking and cackling on virtual machines and Win 10... I had the same problem 15 years ago with my Win_XP too, btw. If you have no videos and no sound ingame, then check the folders on your cd (or CD ISO) and copy from there data folder to the game folder on your HDD (or SSD), this'll fix the missing music and dialogues.
