A beautiful instrument quite similar to the recorder but with a more limited range, it can play from low C through D, E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E, F, the latter being the highest note. However, the sound is very different from that of the flute. It is darker and, for this very reason, it is sometimes more appreciated than the flute.
