At least, that was the order given to our friend Paul. But as soon as we opened the generator, it became clear: the engine would never have run like that. And indeed, during the overhaul, one problem after another arose. Moreover, it wasn't even an R 25/2 engine, but one from the successor model, the R 25/3. A real curiosity, however, was the strange sand that was found everywhere inside the engine. Had the engine been assembled in the Sahara? As a dowry for Sherazade? Was that why it shone and sparkled so brightly? It took a while before we found the cause. And it was indeed brilliant. The fuzzy residue from a buffing wheel, which had been used to polish the open casing back in the day, had become embedded throughout the engine and, over the years, had formed a rather sandy union with the oil. Now that's what I call diversity! is... In short: A lot of work for our friend Paul.
