We Went on a Mardi Gras Float in New Orleans, and It Was Beautiful
We rode a Mardi Gras float in New Orleans, and our friend was the King. This is Mardi Gras from the side most people never see. From a neighborhood jazz club and crawfish boil to the Coronation Ball, a second line through the French Quarter, and an incredible 3+ hours on the float — one word kept coming back to me all week. Beautiful. 📍 PLACES WE VISITED: • Krewe of Pontchartrain Parade • Antoine's Restaurant (Est. 1840) • The Cat's Meow (French Quarter Balcony) • French Quarter Second Line • Mississippi River ⏱️ CHAPTERS: 0:00 Inside Mardi Gras 1:01 Why We Said Yes 2:11 The King 2:41 Mardi Gras by the Numbers 3:03 The Mission 4:25 Jazz Club 6:20 Crawfish Boil 7:25 Krewe Ball 11:32 Second Line 13:20 Float Staging 14:40 The Parade Begins 17:26 The Mission 19: 29 Krewe After Party 20:23 Friends & Goodbyes 21:20 Finding Beauty 22:04 Closing #MardiGras #NewOrleans #MardiGrasFloat
