Dream Job Podcast Episode 009 - Julie and Lalo Davila

In episode nine, hosts Riley Warren and Shannon Jacobs interview Julie and Lalo Davila. Julie currently serves as Percussive Arts Society President, and Adjunct Percussion Professor at Middle Tennessee State University. She is a member of the Caixa Trio and in 2014 was inducted into the Winterguard International Hall of Fame. Lalo has been the Professor of Percussion at Middle Tennessee State University for 36 years, where he teaches applied percussion lessons, and directs the percussion ensemble, steel band, and salsa band. Before joining the faculty at MTSU, Julie taught at John Overton HS and Oakland HS. During her time at Overton, her indoor percussion ensemble won a national championship at WGI in 1996. In addition to his responsibilities at MTSU, Lalo has performed with many performance ensembles and artists including the Corpus Christi and Nashville Symphony Orchestras, as well as the Nashville Jazz Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Ballet, Six Pence None the Richer, Clay Walker, Allen Vizzutti, and Arturo Sandoval. Both Lalo and Julie are currently active performers, clinicians, composers, and adjudicators in the percussion education industry.
