part 1/2. all you need to know to replace any part including motherboard fan/cpu, memory or RAM, hard drive, wifi and lcd display screen. techniques to dislodge the locking tabs of lcd frame liner, mousepad board and keyboard liner. includes bios setting fix for "no disk found" during windows setup or blue screen during windows startup (the fix is to set hardware/SATA to compatibility mode). and if you have a problem where the laptop shuts down during windows startup or when trying to access disk during setup, and you cannot turn it on again without first disconnecting the power supply and battery, it's a hard disk problem - replace it (~25 in ebay for $120gb). lots of cheap t61 parts in ebay for sale. i got a motherboard for $34, lcd screen for $50. if you lost the hard drive cover screw, you can use one of the screws in the hard drive caddie. none of the other screws in the laptop will work.have fun !!!
