2021 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Check Hybrid system error 07/16/2023 3:39PM

Our 2021 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Limited has an intermittent problem where you will be driving and then a warning light will come up that says Check Hybrid system. The "dead battery" lights up as well as the HEV Exclamation triangle icon. Once this happens, if you press the accelerator, the wheels do not receive power. The engine appears to rev but the power is not getting to the wheels. The only way to fix the issue is to pull over, stop the car, and turn it off. Then you need to press the 12-volt Battery Reset button and then press the Start button to re-start the car. Sometimes you need to do this a couple of times. Once the display says the car is ready to drive, the accelerator should properly cause power to go to the wheels.
