AOI Organ Shop – Console restoration

The American Organ Institute proudly presents the console of Oklahoma History Center's Kilgen Organ, Opus 5281, newly restored at the AOI Shop by students and staff at the University of Oklahoma. The console was delivered to the museum this month and can be seen now at the public exhibition on Oklahoma's history at the History Center, in Oklahoma City. The AOI also offers students the singular opportunity to undertake focused study of the American traditions of improvisation, scoring, and accompaniment of silent films and theatrical pipe organ performance. This cultivates opportunities for insight as well as the preservation of a unique aspect of the United States’ rich musical heritage.
