Love and Punishment is a Turkish drama, action, and television series. "Can you walk the path you believe is right, even if you're alone?" Does chastity end where virginity ends? Starring Nurgül Yeşilçay, Murat Yıldırım, and Feride Çetin, the series began in 2010 and takes place in Van, Bodrum, and Istanbul. Love and Punishment tells the story of Yasemin, a young advertising executive who, after her older sister's death during an abortion years ago following an extramarital affair and pregnancy, has promised her father she will never engage in premarital relationships. She is engaged, but later catches her fiancé in bed with a colleague. She throws herself into bars and the arms of Savaş, the first man she sees. They spend the night together. The next morning, Yasemin has disappeared. Savaş is a successful, career-oriented man from Van, a graduate of Boğaziçi University's Business Administration program, who struggles with tradition and tries to stay as far away from his family as possible. Following the mysterious death of his father, Savaş inherited the company. While trying to modernize it and eliminate the shady dealings left behind by his father, he is also forced into a reciprocal marriage with Çiçek, the widow of his deceased brother. One day, Yasemin and Savaş's paths cross at Yasemin's company, where she is now filled with regret and determined to dedicate her entire life to her career. However, a bond already exists between them – a small but powerful connection; Yasemin is pregnant from that night.
