*Check out the tools we used below. If the video was helpful, please give it a "thumbs up" and consider subscribing to the channel.* This video goes over how to replace an Inlet heater control valve on a 2010 Infiniti QX56 with a 5.6 motor. This process should be the same for any 2004-2010 Infiniti QX56 with a 5.6. The Heater control valve is used to control the rate of which coolant flows through the heater core, which regulates the temperature inside of your vehicle. This one had an electronic solenoid, but some use a cable or a vacuum motor depending on manufacture, year, make and model of the vehicle. When a heater inlet control valve goes bad, you are unable to regulate the temperature inside your cabin, making it uncomfortable for the driver or passengers. In cold or winter months, you're unable to clear your windows for safe driving making the vehicle almost inoperable.
