An important meeting is being prepared at the Palace: the Marchioness and the Cardinal are to receive a visit from the Inquisitor General. However, the reception is complicated when someone tries to poison the high-ranking official of the Holy Office. The Commissioner puts himself at the service of Lucrecia to discover the culprit. Águila and Satur discover that the tombs are being desecrated. What appears to be a sale of objects stolen from the corpses could hide a much darker business. Satur himself will fall into the hands of these dangerous body snatchers. Águila enters a monastery searching for the keys to his true origins. Upon arriving at the library, a monk informs him that the goldsmith who designed his mother's medallion is confined in a dangerous mental asylum.
