Nylon & Wire Lyre Sound Comparison

Finally able to put together a comparison between wire and nylon string. Thank you for your patience. It took a while to get the new lyre. Hopefully this clip will provide you with a good idea of the sound produced on both lyres. Many of you have asked which one I prefer and in case you missed the responses, for these type of lyres I prefer the wire strings. I think the sound is so much better and the strings stay in tune a lot longer. Changing to nylon strings proved to be a great learning opportunity for me but I do feel that the best route if one can afford it and prefer the nylon strings is to get one that is already set up this way. You need to be patient and like tinkering to take on this project and the result is not guaranteed. I'm still making adjustments to the nylon strung lyre. I hope that you enjoy this clip.
