Fitting an Anode to an Aluminium Boat | Corrosion Prevention DIY

Fitting aluminium anodes to the boat as part of checking electrolysis and corrosion protection. After testing the hull with a silver chloride reference electrode, I decided to try aluminium anodes based on recommendations for salt and brackish water use. This is more of a real-world experiment than a theory lesson — once the boat is back in the water I’ll re-test everything and see whether the readings actually change. In this video: Why I decided to add aluminium anodes Aluminium vs zinc vs magnesium anodes Choosing mounting locations Surface prep for proper bonding Marking, drilling and countersinking Cleaning the mounting surface Using Tef-Gel on stainless hardware Preventing galling and corrosion Mounting and tightening the anodes Initial thoughts on placement and effectiveness This sort of preventative maintenance is worth checking before corrosion turns into expensive repairs. #boatmaintenance #aluminiumboat #anodes #electrolysis #corrosionprevention Follow & support Wild Hunt Fishing: YouTube: @WildHuntFishing Instagram:   / wildhuntfishing   Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...
