The TDI Diesel Swapped GMC 1500 Is Back! More Fuel, More Boost, This Thing Moves!

Quite a few updates for the GMC 1500 BEW TDI Swap, rebuilt bottom end to go with the new camshaft, upgraded pd150 head bolts and a gtc1549vk turbo to handle 30 PSI of boost. With a 4 bar MAP sensor we added more fuel at full throttle to the tuning as well as more boost throughout the throttle range to cool EGTs and it is working amazing! A 1.9L TDI really can move a full size 4800 lb truck. We are easily seeing over 20 MPG, and noticeably more power than the stock 350 TDI V8 we pulled out. We are running a smaller than stock 235/75r15 tire to get the RPMs as high as possible without regearing the axles, it works pretty well but downshifting is still needed on some of the bigger hills. We tried to get a higher stall converter but ended up with almost stock stall at 1200 RPM, making take off slower than optimal with no boost until 1400 RPM, we are going to leave it for now and maybe play with different converters down the road.
