'Music and I' - Rajeev Taranath

Narrated by C. Chandrashekar In the mid 1980s, the sarod maestro Rajeev Taranath was selected by the Government of India to tour Europe as a cultural ambassador and perform in various cities. Before the tour, a few ardent admirers got together and arranged a small felicitation at Yavanika, Bangalore. At the request of the organizers, he wrote the following essay for their souvenir brochure, a personal account of his search for identity through music. The narration here is by his long time friend C Chandrashekhar. Much gratitude is due to him for his caring preservation of the text and his loving recitation of it here.
