For more than 40 years, this small Uzbek community has called Pakistan home. After fleeing conflict and instability in Afghanistan, many Uzbek families settled in Peshawar, Pakistan. Decades later, many still live as refugees without citizenship or permanent residence, relying on traditional carpet weaving and small businesses to support their families. In this video, I meet members of this little-known community, learn about their struggles and resilience, and hear their stories of life between cultures and borders. Along the way, we visit a special local restaurant and experience a side of Pakistan that few travelers ever see.
