However, half a century ago, computers were expensive, bulky behemoths, tightly locked away in the server rooms of large institutions. For ordinary people, computing power was a privilege they could only look up to. Until 1975, a seemingly rudimentary metal box appeared. It had no screen, no keyboard, yet it single-handedly dismantled the walls of mainframes, igniting the spark of the microcomputer revolution. This was the world's first commercially successful personal computer—the Altair 8800. This Altair 8800 was bought from the United States by a friend of mine and donated to the China Computer Museum. However, it cannot be turned on properly, so I'm attempting to repair it. This program will present the complete diagnostic and repair process, while also explaining the working principles of the Altair 8800 through the diagnostic process.
