Repairing and UPGRADING my 1964 Cooey Model 64 .22
The Cooey Model 64 is a reliable and simple .22 semi-auto hunting rifle. I picked mine up recently at a garage/estate sale and it needs a little TLC before heading to the bush. Follow along as I make a few repairs and modifications to make this a great little gun once again. Cooey was a Canadian manufacturer of rifles and shotguns. In the early sixties, Cooey was purchased by Winchester and they continued to manufacture guns in Southern Ontario. In 1979, the Cooey factory was closed and the designs and many employees moved over to Lakefield. Lakefield continued to make the Model 64. Later, Lakefield was bought out by Savage Arms. Savage continues to make the Model 64 .22 rifle except instead of a wood stock, it now only comes with a synthetic one.
