After wrapping up the college semester, I finally found the time to play all the amazing games that came out this year, and Future Redeemed, while being a DLC, is NO EXCEPTION!! I actually haven't played XC1 or XC2 since I first discovered this series via playthroughs of Chuggaaconroy, but I knew enough from both to understand and appreciate some of the references sprinkled throughout. I was one of those people who wanted an epilogue where the Keves and Agnus folks reunite versus a prequel with the founders, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy seeing Shulk and Rex bond with their children. It was so CUTE and wholesome 🥹. I definitely sobbed at the ending when Shulk and Rex gave the rest of their life force so that their children could live longer. Also, speaking of children, the fact that we not only learned that M and N's child was named "Ghondor" but also saw that Ghondor was quite involved in the DLC to expand N's character a bit was sooooo good. It made me love N as a villain even more 🥲 To commemorate finishing Future Redeemed, I quickly recorded a cover of this beautiful song sung by Joanne Hogg, who sang the ending themes of Xenosaga and Xenogears. Hearing this play as the ending credits display scenes from all three games in the background was very emotional, and I ended up bursting into tears again HAHA. I tried my hand at adding vocal harmonies for once in a XC cover to practice since harmonies are one of my weaknesses. Thanks for reading/listening, and I'll probably be back with another song for the Azure Moon musical since I just finished writing the first draft of the lyrics yesterday.
