I planned to walk to Hospital del Orbigo a massive 37kms, so I could spend time in the town with the most amazing bridge. I used bag transfer to give me half a chance. The hardest bit was walking from Mazarife to Hospital del Orbigo, I had really forgotten how long the straight road out of Mazarife was and walking it in the mid afternoon took a lot of mental deep digging. It was worth it though to spend the evening wandering around the bridge and chatting to Camino pals. It also meant a shorter day the next day to explore Astorga. Then off in to the mountains and the remote mountain villages I love so much
