I talk a lot more in Episode 2, coming soon! I went into this knowing almost nothing about the K-pop industry. Not how groups form. Not how trainee systems work. Not what an evaluation even looks like in this context. Just completely, genuinely blind. 😭 And BABYMONSTER's "Last Evaluation" is apparently the exact right place to start. Because what Episode 1 sets up is not just a show — it's a question. Yang Hyun-suk sits down with seven trainees — Asa, Pharita, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, Chiquita, and Ruka — and makes it immediately clear: the lineup is not decided. These evaluations are what will determine who actually debuts. That's it. That's the premise. And somehow, in less than an episode, it already has me completely invested. 🔥 The YG selection process is something I had no frame of reference for going in. The evaluation structure, the pressure these trainees are operating under, the way the whole system functions — it's a world I knew nothing about. And watching it unfold from a completely outside perspective made it hit differently. You're not just watching people compete. You're watching people who have trained for years stand in a room and wait to find out if any of it was enough. That lands even when you're new to all of it. 💀 This is a great intro to how K-pop evaluations actually work. And I am looking forward to a lot more of this.
