Hundreds Pay Final Respects to Uxbridge Police Officer Struck on Route 146
The streets were lined with uniformed officers Thursday as hundreds of law enforcement personnel paid their final respects to Uxbridge Police Officer Stephen LaPorta, who died in the line of duty after being struck by a tractor-trailer on icy Route 146 early Jan. 7. LaPorta, 43, was helping a motorist after a crash when the truck slammed into him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He leaves behind his wife and 13-year-old son. (Video Credit: DeJaune Jones)
