This famous african flowerbeetle is well known for a blue strain - from Japan or Tzchek republik - nobody knows the origin. Some say, that it is a mix of Mec. torq. ugandensis and Mec. torq. immaculicollis. A blue beetle - like a blue flower - is somewhat romantic and a lot of people are fascinated - even if they they don't really like beetles. A blue one makes the differenecne.
