Dr. Goulart: Cervical Adenocarcinoma: Cytology, Histology, and a Potpourri of Interesting Cases

Goulart, MD, MASCP, FCAP Professor of Pathology University of Massachusetts Memorial Health and the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, in Worcester, Massachusetts, where he is Director of the Cytopathology Service and the Cytopathology Fellowship Program. Immediate Past President of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) currently serving on the Executive Committee of the ASCP Board of Directors and as chair of the Nominations Committee. He is past chair of multiple ASCP committees and commissions, including the Commission on Continuing Professional Development, the Curriculum, Educational Resource and Scientific Advisory Committee, and the Gynecologic Cytopathology Committee. He represents ASCP on the Cytopathology Education and Technology Consortium and the National Cancer Institute-American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) Enduring Guidelines Consensus Committee and is a member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AARC) and Pathology in Cancer Research Working Group Steering Committee. He previously served on the New Test Subgroup of the Laboratory Workgroup for the American Cancer Society’s Primary HPV Screening Initiative and the ASCCP-sponsored consensus review and update initiative for its 2019 Management Guidelines for Abnormal Cervical Cancer Screening Tests. He is a recipient of ASCP’s Israel Davidsohn Award for Distinguished Service, the ASCP Mastership Award, and is a member of the Founders’ Society of the ASCP Foundation. Dr. Goulart also holds leadership positions within the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC), where he is past co-chair of its Foundation Board and a past chair of the multi-society sponsored Cytotechnology Programs Review Committee (CPRC). He currently serves as the ASC Commissioner to the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and was previously awarded the ASC President’s Award for outstanding service in the field of cytopathology.
