It was originally used for military purposes to tie up supplies. But it later found many uses, and is now used in a variety of situations! At one time, it was trendy to make and wear bracelets with this paracord. The name of this bracelet was, as you might guess, "survival bracelet." Why "survival"? I was curious and looked it up, and found that soldiers wore bracelets made with easily untieable knots in case of emergency. They say they used them as survival ropes, untying the bracelet cord in emergency situations like snake bites or tying up objects, to bind wounds. Later, they became popular as fashion items and hiking accessories, rather than survival tools.
