This is more of a Breaking News type of episode. I wasn't planning this. Waking up to conference realignment... isn't it just great? Consider the 2 articles published by Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports on Fabruary 6, 2026 and think about how they were worded. These reports are not coming from some random, fly-by-night guy on social media. It's Ross Dellenger reporting it. North Dakota State is pretty much set in stone to join the Mountain West Conference as a Football-Only member. It's not confirmed 100%, but as of now it's getting very close to it. All I can say here is good for NDSU to finally get it done. They were meant to join the MWC as that conference is a perfect fit for them. As for Sacramento State possibly getting a chance to join the MAC? I have very mixed feelings about that. First off, Sacramento is a big media market and the MAC would open its doors to the west coast, widening its geographic footprint. However, if the MAC doesn't plan on adding any other west coast (or at least Central Time Zone) schools, then adding Sac State makes NO sense whatsoever. What do you guys think? Comment below!
