How To Improve Speed and Acceleration / 10 Drills For Footballers

In today's video, Calvin and I will take you through a full fitness training session for footballers. 10 simple exercises focusing on speed, acceleration, and explosive power. Equipment: 5 Cones, soccer ball, medicine ball Structure: Line up 5 cones in a straight line (5 yards or large steps in between each cone). 5 drills to improve speed and acceleration 5 drills using the medicine ball to improve power, and first step explosiveness Perform each movement/exercise 3 times (1 set), rest 10 seconds between each exercise. Once you complete the set rest one minute before moving on to the next drill. Training Session: Speed 1. Bounding x3 2. Gradually accelerate x3 3. Drop to sprint x3 4. Sprint x3 5. Sprint with the ball x3 Medicine Ball 1. Half kneeling toss to sprint x3 2. Half kneeling rotational slam to sprint x3 3. Half kneeling to skater hop and rotational slam to sprint x3 4. Kneeling to jump to toss to sprint x3 5. Single leg jumps x3 This session is 10-15 minutes long. Enjoy!
