Research & Development: The Missing Link I EconFest Debate
Research & Development (R&D) in Pakistan is virtually non-existent. Despite having 200+ universities and around two dozen think tanks in Pakistan, governments have relied on donors. Not surprisingly, the country lacks knowledge networks where researchers, thought leaders, policy-makers and practitioners can interact frequently and share ideas. At the #EconFest, we shall talk about the research-policy gap and explore the missing links. Speakers: ■ GONZALO J. VARELA Senior Economist, The World Bank Group (Pakistan) ■ MOHSIN MUSHTAQ CHAN DNA Secretary (lncharge), Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication ■ MUMTAZ ANWAR Dean, Faculty of Business, Economics and Administrative Services, University of Punjab ■ FAHEEM JEHANGIR (Moderator) Senior Research Economist, PIDE I Project Director, RASTA #ResearchDevelopment #Pakistan #Ideas #Universities #Education #Development #HigherEducation For Further Details Please Visit: www.pide.org.pk @PIDEOfficial / pidepk / pideislamabad / pidepk / pidepk
