In this video, we explore repotting your Phalaenopsis orchid step by step: ⏰ When to repot: The orchid is too tight in its pot or the substrate is breaking down (bad smell or pot that stays wet after 10 days). In case of mealybugs to avoid infection, as babies can hide in the pot. Ideally after flowering, but the plant's health comes first. 🛠️ Key repotting steps: Prepare the materials: a clean transparent pot, a disinfected pruner (alcohol or flame) and substrate (pine bark preferably). Remove the orchid and take out the old substrate. Imperatively remove the coconut fiber plug to avoid rot. Cut off dead roots (brown, soft). Repot in a pot of the same size or slightly larger, filled with new substrate, pressing down to avoid air pockets. The substrate should reach the base of the roots (collar) to avoid rot. 🚿 After repotting: Put the plant back in its usual place. You can water immediately (my habit) or wait a little to let the roots heal.
