On November 4, 2023, La Mesa Model Railroad Club hosted an operations session based on a date in January of 1953. The La Mesa layout replicates the route between Bakersfield and Mojave which includes the Tehachapi Loop. The club hosts operating sessions about once every 3 months and is a continuation of the previous operation session's date.
