Shabby Chic Makeover | Paint Furniture | Recover Cushion | Decoupage Drawer | Mattress Spring Craft

~Join me as I "Shabby Up" my tired sewing table with a Shabby Chic Makeover! It's actually a vanity, but I've had my sewing machine on it for years. It was once honey oak, but I painted it 10 years ago with chalk paint that I made myself. I'm slowly working my way through my craft room to bring everything into a white, pink, and aqua color scheme. I enjoy the work, and I love bringing you along with me. The table is painted in Rustoleum Linen White Chalk Paint. I'll finish the top off camera with Annie Sloan Clear Wax to protect the painted surface. The bench will also be chalk painted, and the cushion will be recovered in a fun new fabric from Hobby Lobby. I hot glued pompom trim (also from Hobby Lobby) all around the edges for a perfect whimsical touch! The sides of the drawers were decoupaged using Mod Podge and beautiful papers from the Colorbok, Flea Market Signature Paper Collection, that I purchased from Walmart. I replaced the drawer knobs with big, beautiful, blingy knobs from Amazon. Then we have an awesome craft using a wooden plinth block, and an old rusty mattress spring! The vintage plinth block was purchased from Eco Relics in Jacksonville, FL., and the mattress spring was a local flea market find. The plinth block was painted with ColorSmart Chalk Paint in Pink Bliss from Michael's. I used the Valspar Weathered Crackle Glaze from Lowes, and topped it with Waverly Chalk Paint in the color Plaster from Walmart.
