The Royal Jordanian Automotive Museum

Royal Automobile Museum is one of Jordan’s most famous museums and a unique attraction for both history and car enthusiasts. Located in Amman near Al Hussein Public Parks, the museum was opened in 2003 by King Abdullah II as a tribute to his father, the late King Hussein, who was passionate about automobiles and motorsports. The museum showcases more than 70 rare cars and motorcycles that belonged to the Jordanian royal family, ranging from early 20th-century vehicles to modern luxury and sports cars. Each vehicle tells part of Jordan’s modern history, including important royal events and national milestones. One of the museum’s highlights is that it combines automotive culture with storytelling. Visitors can see classic Rolls-Royces, racing cars, motorcycles, and even the rover used in the Hollywood film The Martian, which was filmed in Jordan’s Wadi Rum desert. Today, the museum is considered one of the best automotive museums in the Middle East and offers visitors a fascinating look into Jordan’s royal heritage, technological progress, and modern history.
