Homemade Rifling Machine | New Idea Solve An Old Problem
Hi world, I decided to make a little dream come true, a challenge that started as a bet a few years ago, when a friend told me that with the standard parallel lathe you can't make a step as large as the typical 1:250 ( mm) of the internal rifling of a firearm (1 turn in 250 mm) or in any case it goes beyond the metric/inch values (6 mm for example): I don't want to build a weapon (Obviously), but I do win the bet! Thus this idea was born, an idler joint before a cam, made with a 3D printer (given the reduced efforts on the cam and the 3D detail was the key to making everything, otherwise you would need a CNC milling machine which I don't have) that can be customized with the pitch you want, in my case the cam has a pitch of 1:250 (mm); The new idea that made me decide to try my hand at the challenge is that the idler joint "releases", separates the linear advancement but not the axial one, which is made up of a cam that anyone can design and print at home: the cylinder of the joint is welded to the M12 screw that passes into the nut of the lathe spindle, the axis instead of the central shaft rotates idle inside the joint bearings. As you see, on the same axis there is a pitch of 1.75 mm (M12) and a pitch of 250 (mm) (pitch of the plastic cam 1 turn in 250 (mm), so not 1 complete turn anyway because mine lathe is short, with a larger lathe you can reach larger dimensions but the pitch is the same, 250 mm) New idea with to solve an old problem!! 😀 Alberto • ISCRIVITI AL CANALE E ATTIVA LA CAMPANELLA @ab-shop 💬 Canale Telegram di Offerte: https://t.me/ABSHOP_Promotions 📩 Contatto commerciale/business: vedi email su info del canale YouTube (non rispondo a richieste di aiuto per mail) ⏱ If you like my video, don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel, it really means a lot !! ▶ If you enjoy my video, please consider to SHARE on your favorite social!
