Tshegofatso Pule I Ntuthuko Shoba to be sentenced for murdering his 8 months pregnant girlfriend
Ntuthuko Shoba is expected to be sentenced today for murdering his eight-months pregnant girlfriend, Tshegofatso Pule, in June 2020. Shoba was found guilty of hiring Muzikayise Malepane to carry out the murder. The defence has asked the High Court in Johannesburg not to give murder Shoba a life sentence, saying he should get a similar sentence to his hired hitman, who got 20 years. However the State says there are no exceptional circumstances that warrant the court to detract from prescribing the maximum sentence. State prosecutor Fagre Mohammed underlined that Pule was pregnant and respected Shoba. However he exploited her vulnerability and broke that trust by hiring someone to kill her.
