This interview aims to define the contours of the Iranian-American memorandum and assess its consequences: the perspective of Franco-Iranian sociologist Mahnaz Shirali. In this unconventional interview, she argues that the text signed in Versailles by Donald Trump should not be interpreted to the advantage of the Iranians. She points out that the effective implementation of Articles 6 and 7—which provide for financial aid and the lifting of sanctions—is contingent upon compliance with the requirements of Article 8, which concerns the cessation of Iran's nuclear program and the destruction of the 450 kilograms of enriched uranium. She asserts that the leaders of the Islamic Republic are currently embroiled in a bitter dispute over the course of action and are inclined to embark on a race to develop a nuclear bomb. According to her, only the Israelis have truly grasped the nature of this regime.
