🔴Poland's main opposition party Law and Justice (PiS) officially split ahead of the 2027 parliamentary elections, when more than 30 MPs, led by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, left the party after they refused to accept Jarosław Kaczyński's ultimatum to sign a "declaration of loyalty." With the departure of these moderate pro-Western politicians, PiS is bound to become more radicalized and will start using sharp anti-Ukrainian slogans even more actively, playing on historical disputes and the theme of war fatigue to attract far-right voters. This internal explosion was the result of Morawiecki's group's refusal to liquidate its new association "Rozwój Plus" at the request of the party leader.
